Q: Are Bulldogs really the greatest dogs in the world?
A: Yes, unquestionably!
Q: Are Bulldogs good with kids?
A: Yes! They are very good with children of all ages. Small children have been know to pinch, pull, squeeze and even lay on their bulldog. However, we do not recommend this to be allowed. The bulldog loves to be near their family. They lay around as close to their family as possible. They want to please their owners.
Q: Do Bulldogs wear those goofy Moose Antlers or are they above that?
A: Anything is OK...except Moose Antlers. Tutus, sunglasses, leather jackets, T-shirts, Tuxedos, etc, etc... are OK.
Q: What is the life expectancy for a Bulldog?
A: A Bulldog is getting old between seven to ten years of age. We have had some reach thirteen, but this is unusual.
Q: How do you find a good veterinarian?
A: Its just like finding a doctor for yourself or your children. Ask questions. Most breeders can help you find a vet or they know someone in your area that can refer you.
Q: Why are Bulldogs used so often as mascots?
A: See First Question
Q: How did the realatively small Bulldogs bring down bulls?
A: The Bulldog would grab onto the bulls nose and hold on untill the bull was too tired to fight anymore. The Bulldog's short snout allowed it to breathe while holding on. Note: that the bull was tethered with a rope four to five feet long and there were ususally more than one dog..
Q: Why are Bulldog faces so wrinkly?
A: So that the bull's blood would flow down the dogs face, under its chin and down, rather than into the dogs eyes. Their noses are tipped back so that they can breathe while keeping a hold of a mouthful.
Q: Why do they have such a short jaw?
A: So that its easier to hold on.
Q: I hear that they have jaws that lock, is this true?
A: No, they are just very strong and stubborn. If they do not want to let go, they wont.
Q: So does this mean that they would make good hunters?
A:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Yes, they are very capable of hunting dust bunnies.
Q: Are they mean dogs?
A: Any dog can be taught to be mean. However, the bulldog is normally very sweet. Although they do have selective hearing.
Q: Will a Bulldog make a good gaurd dog?
A: No, they *LIKE* people. Although many people are afraid of Bulldogs.
Q: Are they barkers?
A: No, they are very quiet in general. They do snore, belch and can be flatulent. So they can be noisy in other ways. Though Bulldog owners tend to find this "noise" comforting.
Q: Why are they sooooooo beeeeeee....uuuuuuu....teeeeeful?
A: No one is sure why they are so stunning, they just are.
Q: Why do Bulldogs have to have their puppies by C-section?
A:When a bulldog free whelps (delivers without a C-section) usually some pups are born dead. Any dog can take a long time to deliver an entire littler of puppies. An hour or more between pups is not unusual, and if the litter is large, the delivery can last eight or more hours. Bulldogs will just forget it and go to sleep. Because the bulldog is higher in the rear, it is difficult to free whelp. The head and shoulders are so wide it is difficult to push the pups through the narrow pelvic area in the birth canal. AKC once described it as trying to put the circus fat lady into the tightrope walkers leotards.

Bulldogs, also, have a higher than normal record of producing "Anasarca" puppies. These are fetuses that do not drain fluid in a normal manner, and end up as water filled puppies, often weighing two or three times what a normal puppy would weigh. They become so large that they can not fit through the birth canal.
Q: Do they shed a lot?
A: They do have a short coat, but they are NOT a non-shedding dog.
Q: Is special grooming required?
A: Not much. You do need to occasionally clean their wrinkles, but how much depends on how wrinkly your Bulldog is.
Q: Do they need a lot of exercise?
A: They don't need a lot of exercise. They like walks like any other dog. However, you MUST use common sense. Do not walk your bulldog in the heat, heat is a killer.
